4You Were There When Supporting Heroes rst meets the survivors of a fall-en rst responder, we let them know they are not alone, that we will be there for them in the days and years to come.One of the ways we do that is by hosting social events, where survivors can meet other survivors and bond over their shared experience in a relaxed and fun environment. Survivors always attend these events free of charge — made possible by our members and partners like you!The Supporting Heroes Thunder for Survivors event provides a secure area and warm tent where our survivor families can enjoy the air, drone and reworks show that is Thunder Over Louisville. That is compared to 18% from heart disease during the same period.Fireghters have a 9% higher risk of being diag-nosed with cancer and 14% higher risk of dying from cancer than the general population.CLICK HERE to learn more.The National Fallen Fireghters Founda-tion (NFFF) has teamed up with the Fireghter Cancer Support Network (FCSN) to raise awareness via the Walk of Honor at NFFF’s Memorial Park in Emmitsburg, Mary-land.
